Assessment Overview
The EducoSoft Student Assessment Feature is designed to guide students through various assessments, each tailored to support learning and evaluate understanding. Here’s a breakdown of how it works:
- Accessing Assessments:
Students access assessments by clicking the "Assessments" link in the Course Tools. This displays a list of all available assessments, including the title and any prerequisites (PR) that must be completed before taking the assessment.
- Types of Assessments:
- Homework: The student gets a question, if the answer is incorrect he/she can see the solution for guided learning, and attempt another version of the same question until the answer is correct.
- Practice Quiz: Designed for test preparation, providing solutions for every question to help students learn and review.
- Quiz: Simulate real exams with no help or solutions offered. This type of assessment is intended to measure the student's independent understanding.
- Homework Process:
- Starting Homework: After clicking "Take" for a homework assignment, a prerequisite screen appears if any PRs are attached.
- A green check mark indicates completed prerequisites, while a red arrow shows any remaining requirements.
- The "Start" button becomes active once all prerequisites are met.
- Homework Screen:
- On the Assessment page, if a student enters the correct answer, they can proceed to the next question. If the answer is incorrect, the "Solution" and "Try Again" buttons will be displayed.
- When the student clicks the "Try Again" button, the system will present a new version of the same question, allowing them to answer it again.
- During assessments, the "Save and Complete Later" button is always visibleand students can navigate between questions and save their progress using the "Save and Complete Later" button.
- Upon completion, clicking "Submit Assessment" displays the Result Page.
- Practice Quiz Process:
- Aimed at preparing students for formal tests or quizzes, providing solutions for all questions to support understanding.
- On the Assessment page, the "Try Again" and "Solution" options are always visible, even before the student attempts to answer. This allows students to explore solutions or retry a new version of the question at any time during the assessment.
- Clicking the "Try Again" button generates a new version of the same question, offering repeated practice to enhance understanding.
- The "Save and Complete Later" button remains accessible throughout the assessment, giving students the flexibility to pause and resume their progress at their convenience.
- After completion, click "Submit Assessment" to view their results.
- Quiz Process:
- Quiz provides an exam-like environment with no solutions available during the test. A link allows students to contact their instructor if they need clarification on any question.
- On the Assessment page, students are required to answer each question without access to the "Solution" or "Try Again" options, encouraging independent thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Once an answer is submitted, it is final, requiring students to carefully review and confirm their responses before proceeding to the next question.
- After completion, click "Submit Assessment" to view their results.
- Result Page:
- This page provides a summary of the student's performance, including overall score, and excludes scores for sample questions where solutions were provided.
- A detailed list shows each question, how it was graded, and review solutions.
- Students can view an objective-wise diagnostic analysis to understand their strengths and weaknesses.
- Solution Page:
The EducoSoft solution page offers the following features:
- Question Code: A unique identifier for each question.
- Evaluation Status: Displays whether the student's response is correct.
- Max Score: Indicates the maximum points possible for the question
- Student Response: Shows the students' entered answers, with green checkmarks indicating correctness.
- Solution Button: Provides access to a detailed solution to help students understand the correct answers.
- Navigation Bar: Allows students to switch between questions, with color-coded indicators showing the status of each question.
The EducoSoft Student Assessment Feature thus provides a structured, supportive environment for students to learn, practice, and review their progress effectively.
